Lisa Powers, AFA, AFCA

Lisa has over twenty-five years teaching experience. Her teaching method encourages students to learn by watching and doing. Projects are student-led and therefore students are involved in the entire process, from concept to a completed work of art. Both children and adults will feel comfortable working with Lisa. Her pleasant, patient, art instruction will ensure that students enjoy each class!

Class size is limited to ensure individual guidance. Students learn at their own level and pace. See class schedule here.

Lisa founded The Makers Room, a public art studio in 2014, where she offered art workshops and an “open studio” concept so people could drop in to “make” things while listening to local musicians. The Makers Room closed December 2016, when Lisa was invited to move to The Loft Studios, where she works as an Artist and Teacher.  Lisa has been featured on TV and in local newspapers, and is a published author.
